Bloodshed in a Nation

The shedding of blood in a nation has huge biblical implications for Americans.

Reading from Ezekiel

Though this passage is for Edom and goes back to Jacob and Esau, and though we have in America a misplaced support for so-called Zionist Jews not saved and guilty of the highest crimes against humanity while we support the Jewish nation, there is here a sober rebuke for America’s abortion and other kinds of bloodshed political or mere civil, and a judgment for all American anti-semitic behavior of our past. This might help explain some of the horrific shooting events of this 2017 fall season.

I shall lay your cities waste, And you shall be desolate. Then you shall know that I am the Lord . “Because you have had an ancient hatred, and have shed the blood of the children of Israel by the power of the sword at the time of their calamity, when their iniquity came to an end, therefore, as I live,” says the Lord God , “I will prepare you for blood, and blood shall pursue you; since you have not hated blood, therefore blood shall pursue you. Thus I will make Mount Seir most desolate, and cut off from it the one who leaves and the one who returns. And I will fill its mountains with the slain; on your hills and in your valleys and in all your ravines those who are slain by the sword shall fall. I will make you perpetually desolate, and your cities shall be uninhabited; then you shall know that I am the Lord .

“Because you have said, ‘These two nations and these two countries shall be mine, and we will possess them,’ although the Lord was there, therefore, as I live,” says the Lord God , “I will do according to your anger and according to the envy which you showed in your hatred against them; and I will make Myself known among them when I judge you. Then you shall know that I am the Lord .

I have heard all your blasphemies which you have spoken against the mountains of Israel, saying, ‘They are desolate; they are given to us to consume.’ Thus with your mouth you have boasted against Me and multiplied your words against Me; I have heard them. ” ‘Thus says the Lord God : “The whole earth will rejoice when I make you desolate.

The satanic TX Church attack is a wake up call to our nation as well as our churches to heed biblical truths. Our Founders had much different ideas for our nation! The war of evil against good, Satan and God, couldn’t have been clearer for this tragedy of highest degree. It is truly time for repentance and revival!

The Las Vegas Concert attack is another evidence of evildoers covering their deeds and citizens ignoring the significance of the bloodshed and doing little to cry out for justice. We would certainly not want to see a “rejoicing Earth” over our nation when the founders sought true freedom from all sorts of tyranny evident from all earth’s history!

The Forgetability of God Can Make Memorable, or Regrettable Our Nation’s Future

“Then those of you who escape will remember Me among the nations where they are carried captive,

because I was crushed by their adulterous heart which has departed from Me,

and by their eyes which play the harlot after their idols;

they will loathe themselves for the evils which they committed in all their abominations.

And they shall know that I am the LORD; I have not said in vain that I would bring this calamity upon them.””

The verses above rehearse the most depressing days ever experienced by a nation of people. Jewish people have have received incredible opportunities from the God of creation, in as much as He chose them above all other peoples to have, hold, and preserve His revealed Word and thus to know His will and b the instrument to bring it to humankind.

Made into His image and created with a purpose to glorify Him and enjoy Him forever, they failed to receive and accept the full responsibility of doing His will. And there were grave consequences for this failure.

Yet God has not forsaken them, even though they are scattered to the ends of the earth. He promised to gather them back to the most sacred spot on earth, Mount Zion, Jerusalem, Israel.

There are direct ‘applications’ we ought to make, knowing the world’s history, concerning the nation of AMERICA.

• WE HAVE AN ADULTEROUS HEART THAT HAS CRUSHED THE SPIRIT Of OF GOD.
• WE HAVE DEPARTED FROM GOD, The God of our founders.
• WE HAVE PRACTICED IDOLATRY THAT IS ABOMINABLE TO THE LIVING GOD AND BROUGHT JUDGMENT UPON OURSELVES.
• THERE IS COMING A TIME OF LOATHING AFTER WE REALIZE WHAT EVILS WE ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR DOING.
• WE WILL COME TO A TIME THAT WE REALIZE THE CONSEQUENCE OF GOD’S CLAIM TO BE “THE ‘LORD’.”

It could mean a similar fate as Israel has suffered coming to this great land. God has given His Word as a guide to nations, and His will as that which will surely come to pass for the rest of time. Let us refuse to cling to the obstinacy that brings judgment, and by faith obey His Spirit of great glory to be brought unto us:

Like Israel, the American nation has experienced unprecedented success and blessings, but it no longer has the zeal and sober spiritual drive of its Founders. They have violated human rights and sovereign nations. They haven’t repented nor recompensed for the wrongs they have done. The land that has seldom known drought, drys so much that fires consume it; it has never known famine, but is now suffering great loss of its crops; it has enjoyed relative peace and no war-time destruction, but now fears almost any public open venues; it has known great unity and flag-waving pride, but now insulting anthem protest displays disrespectful of a multitude of bloody heroes.

We think we are and will always be shielded and protected “from sea to shining sea.” But we are beginning to experience judgment like all the other nations. Only when we start paying attention to God’s ways, can we again experience His blessing, both individually and corporately!

Will you

1. humble yourself,
2. confess national sin,
3. plead for mercy,
4. voice your opposition to our national evil ways, and
5. recompense for it’s evils done?

“Therefore gird up the loins of your mind, be sober, and rest your hope fully upon the grace that is to be brought to you at the revelation of Jesus Christ;”
